Time changes everything. You may be richer or poorer than you were five years ago. The family may have gotten bigger with the birth of a new child or grandchild. Health issues may have arisen in the last few years forcing an earlier retirement. Asset protection planning may have not been a concern when you were in your fifties, but becomes more of an issue as you get older.

To that list, I would add “not reviewing your plan with your lawyer every several years to see if it needs to be revised.”
